100 Free Bikinis at Storkespringvandet: Our Copenhagen Fashion Week Moment

Yesterday, we gave 100 bikinis to strangers in the middle of Copenhagen.

Right by Storkespringvandet, in the middle of Copenhagen Fashion Week, our team walked around with totebags full of Mahéquline swim sets and handed them, one by one, to girls passing by. No purchase needed. No sign-up. Just — here, this is for you.

Why we did it

Copenhagen Fashion Week is a moment. And we wanted our moment inside it to feel like everything Mahéquline is really about — not seen, not curated, not planned to death. Just given.

There is something quietly powerful about handing a stranger a piece of clothing you truly love, watching her face light up, and knowing she gets to feel that little bit more like herself when she wears it this summer.

That is what we wanted to give.

The girls who said yes

Some of them were tourists. Some were on their way to a fashion show. One was walking her dog. One was on a first date. They were young, they were curious, they said yes because a girl in a bikini was smiling at them in the middle of the city, and that alone made the day a little softer.

They all left with something in their hand. And with luck, they will wear it in Nice this weekend, or in Mallorca, or in their own bathroom mirror on a Tuesday. Wherever they go, that piece goes with them.

Copenhagen Fashion Week, our way

We are not showing a runway. We are not throwing a party in a warehouse. We are giving away 100 bikinis in the middle of a fountain plaza on a Monday afternoon because it felt honest, and because if the point of a brand is to make women feel something, then let it start with a gift.

Thank you to every girl who stopped, said hello, and took one home. You are the reason this whole thing exists.
