"My inspiration comes from everywhere - color combinations, childhood memories, travels, unique moments in time and place, and the friendships that shape my world."
Concept Development
At the first stage of the design process, the mood of each new collection is carefully defined. Inspiration is drawn from a curated archive of colour combinations, childhood memories, travels, meaningful moments, and friendships. These elements are thoughtfully collected and translated into mood boards that form the visual and emotional foundation of the collection.
Sketching & Design Drafting
With the mood set, I bring my vision to life through detailed sketches. Each design starts with a freehand drawing, capturing different angles and exploring shapes, cuts, and delicate details that reflect the collection’s identity.
Material Selection
I carefully choose fabrics from minimal impact suppliers and if possible trims from deadstock fabrics that tell the story. Each material is selected to evoke the right emotion and ensure comfort for my Mahé girls. Every detail, from the softest elastic to the smallest bow or charm, and every colour combination play their part in bringing the design to life.
Design Construction
I translate my sketches into precise templates for each piece, ensuring they align perfectly with the chosen materials. I incorporate my signature adjustable back design, allowing the bras to fit all circumferences, so girls only need to focus on selecting their cup size. This step brings the vision closer to reality, focusing on fit, structure, and flow.
Sampling
The first sample is born here. I bring the design to life, testing the fit, comfort, and feel on real bodies. Adjustments are made to ensure every piece looks and feels exactly as intended.
Bringing to Life
The final stage is where it all comes together. I test for comfort, durability, and that perfect feel. Once it’s flawless, it’s ready to be sewed and shared with the world, making sure every piece is as beautiful, high quality, and comfy as it was meant to be.
