Reusable Canvas Bags for Shipping

Current shipments to our Mahé girls come in reusable canvas bags with zippers, designed to be used again and again. This means that when you receive your items, you also get a practical bag you can repurpose for storage - for example, as a makeup bag or for packing underwear and other essentials when travelling. It’s a simple way to reduce single-use plastic and encourage reuse.

Mahéquline's Current Fiber Usage

At Mahéquline®, we use 95% cotton and 5% elastane for our cotton underwear, offering a perfect balance of comfort, breathability, and stretch. Cotton not only feels lovely against your skin but also has a longer life, compared to polyester and polyurethane, ensuring that your pieces stay with you for years to come.

For our swimwear, we use 80% nylon and 20% elastane, designed for comfort, longevity, and a flattering, timeless look.

Mahéquline’s fiber usage consists of the following materials:

  • 47,5% organic cotton, an eco-friendly choice that ensures a natural and breathable fabric while minimizing environmental footprint.
  • 40% nylon, which adds strength and durability.
  • 12,5% elastane, providing elasticity and comfort to their garments.

Care guide

Hand wash is recommended

While many cotton and nylon pieces can be machine washed, we always recommend hand washing, especially to protect delicate details like charms, bows, hooks, and logos. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild soap or detergent formulated for delicate fabrics. Let your underwear or swimwear soak for 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and gently press out excess water (avoid wringing the fabric).

Use machine wash with caution

If you choose to machine wash, it is at your own risk, and products that are damaged as a result of this process are non-refundable. Always place your Mahéquline items in a mesh laundry bag to protect it from being stretched or damaged. Use a gentle cycle with cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid washing with heavier fabrics like jeans or towels, as these can cause wear and tear on the delicate material.

Avoid the dryer

Never tumble dry your Mahéquline items, as heat can damage the elastic and fabric. Instead, gently press out the water and lay your pieces flat to air dry on a drying rack or a towel. Avoid hanging it by the straps, as this can cause them to stretch over time.

Proper storage

Store your pieces carefully to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. Fold bras so the cups retain their shape and avoid turning them inside out. Lay them flat or store them in a dedicated lingerie drawer to keep them in their best condition.

Avoid harsh chemicals

Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as these can damage delicate fabrics and discolor your pieces. If you need to remove stains, opt for a mild detergent or a gentle stain remover instead.
